What is clipping?

Clipping occurs when audio levels exceed the system’s maximum limit, causing distortion and harshness.

What is an example of clipping?

A loud shout into a microphone may exceed the input level and produce crackling, distorted audio.

How does clipping work?

The waveform peaks are “cut off,” losing information and introducing sharp edges that sound unpleasant.

How does ai-coustics use clipping?

Our models including Lark, Quail, and Finch detect and mitigate clipping artifacts, restoring intelligibility and natural tone.
