Distortion is any alteration of the original audio signal, often resulting in harsh or unnatural sound.

An overdriven microphone preamp produces audible crackling and fuzzy edges on speech.

It occurs through nonlinearities in the audio chain, either accidentally (clipping, transmission errors) or intentionally (effects).

Our models including Lark, Quail, and Finch recognize and correct common distortions, improving the listenability of degraded audio.
