What is the Tyto Risk Score?
The Tyto Risk Score is a single value between 0 and 1 that Tyto outputs, predicting how likely a piece of audio is to cause a failure downstream in voice activity detection (VAD), turn-taking, speech-to-text (STT) or a speech-to-speech model. Lower is better.

A call scoring 0.8 is very likely to produce a bad transcription or a missed turn somewhere downstream, before anyone listens to the recording or reads the transcript.
How does the Tyto Risk Score work?
It’s derived from six underlying Tyto Dimensions – noise, reverb, loudness, interfering speech, packet loss and codec degradation – each scored on its own, then combined into the single risk value. The dimensions are related rather than fully independent, so a real acoustic problem often moves more than one of them at once.
