WAcc

What is WAcc?

WAcc (Word Accuracy) measures how accurately speech recognition systems transcribe spoken words compared to a reference transcript.

What is an example of WAcc?

If 95 out of 100 words in an audio clip are transcribed correctly, the WAcc is 95%.

How does WAcc work?

It calculates the ratio of correctly recognized words to the total number of words, factoring in substitutions, deletions, and insertions.

How does ai-coustics help WAcc?

Our Quail family of real-time speech enhancement models directly improves WAcc for voice agents and other ASR-driven products. By cleaning up noise, reverb, and codec artifacts before the signal reaches the recognizer, Quail delivers the cleaner speech that higher accuracy depends on.
